2024 Showcase:

The 2024 showcase was curated around the Black History Month theme Reclaiming Our Narratives, with the intention of shining a light on aspects of Blackness not often reflected in mainstream media. It created space for authentic, layered stories that challenged stereotypes and celebrated lived experience.

The evening was divided into four parts:

 

Black Excellence explored the expectations placed on Black individuals to constantly excel, while celebrating talent, resilience, and achievement.

 

Black Love centred the beauty of Black love in its many forms, highlighting connection, care, and support within the Black community.

 

Black Chameleon examined the ways Black people were often expected to adapt and change in order to fit into British society, unpacking the complexities of identity and the pressure to conform.

 

Black Joy celebrated the pure joy of Black culture, from music and dance to the power of cultural expression and collective celebration
