2026 Showcase:
Strength in Vulnerability
Our 2026 theme, Strength in Vulnerability, challenges the long-standing expectation that Black people must always be strong, resilient, unbreakable, and emotionally contained - otherwise we risk being labelled as angry or agressive. While strength has been essential for survival, it has often come at the cost of softness, honesty and rest.

This theme creates space for vulnerability not as weakness, but as a form of power, resistance, healing, and truth-telling. We invite creatives to explore what happens when we allow ourselves to be seen fully.
What We Are Exploring
We are interested in work that reflects:
-
Emotional honesty
-
Intimacy and tenderness
-
Unspoken stories
-
The courage it takes to feel, name, and share lived experiences
This is about reclaiming vulnerability as a source of strength, not something to hide or overcome.
